The headquarters of the public library occupies the space of the Carbonell y Fortuny industry, popularly called Can Fortuny. It was in 1912 when this family bought it from Joan Riutort and turned it into a very powerful wool blanket and fabric industry. In addition, it was the headquarters of the town's electricity factory and, therefore, doubly important! In 1926 the company became the Compañía Fabril and built a new factory on the Son Trias land. A visit to the library is a must because it allows us to contemplate the magnificent metal columns and the poor gas engine of the Can Magre factory, an extraordinary relic of that time.
