Water, in addition to being a source of life, is also a source of conflict. One of the most famous in history was between the woman from Esporles and the emissaries of the Abbot de la Real, who had the right to the waters of Sa Granja. The fact is that if the waters of the torrent entered the chasm after the Sa Turbina bridge, they came out to the En Baster spring and therefore did not pass through the town. The women, not having water, covered the chasm and thus the water ran. The abbot sent an emissary to uncover the chasm, but the women received him with stones! Hence the people of the town, when something slips out of their hands, they still say: "Avall frares!" (Down friars!)
