Casa des Poble

Casa des Poble

The 20th century is synonymous with changes, especially social ones. An example of this is the Casa des Poble, inaugurated in 1930 by the Esporles Workers' Federation. Of the complex, the theatre stands out, but the building also housed meeting rooms, a library, several union premises, both in construction and in the textile and peasant sectors. But in 1936 it was closed and a large part of the library burned. In 2007 the City Council acquired it and, after a careful rehabilitation, it was reopened in 2014. A way to remember the past... to dignify the present.
