Many years ago, a merchant from Estellencs named Pere Porquer passed through the town. After doing business in Palma, he went back to his town and used to stay at the hotel in Esporles. So over and over again... But on one occasion, he came to the hotel and went up to the room. The next morning, however, he didn’t come down: the room was empty! No one had seen him leave and, in fact, no one ever saw him anywhere again! For many years in the town they wondered what happened. In fact, fathers and mothers told their children when they passed in front of the hotel: "Don't get close, Pere Porquer will come out!".
