The industrial history of Esporles cannot be written without mentioning the figure of Joan Riutort i Palmer (approx. 1842-1917), since in the middle of the 19th century he installed several fulling mills in a mill on the estate of sa Granja. As a result of his success, he acquired a thirty-horsepower steam engine in Barcelona and installed a Pelton-type turbine in a mill on the outskirts of Esporles. This mill, then known as Sa Turbina, managed to move up to 110 looms. Today, among the undergrowth, we can see the solid tower of the mill, with the largest capacity in Mallorca. A heritage that, in addition to being remembered, deserves to be recovered.
