Pont des Badaluc

Pont des Badaluc

In the valley of Esporles, before the arrival of King Jaume (1229 AD), it was full of rich farmhouses. However, few remains of that time remain around the town. One of those that have reached us is through a curious toponym: Es Badaluc. According to some specialists, it comes from the Arabic ba'da al-lyy, which means "behind the cliff". If we look up we can see the magnificent views that surround the old bridge and especially where the houses of Es Badaluc stand. Sometimes a simple nickname takes us back more than seven centuries of history! It is important to keep them.
